and another dress/ y otro vestido mas

 

i hope you are not tired of seeing dresses i make for fiona, because there are many more to come!.  there is nothing more satisfying to me than to see her wearing things i make with my hands. and if i let my imaginaton run wild, i picture her daughter {if she has one, of course} wearing these dresses and them being passed to future generations, one of the best gifts i can leave my family, in my opinion.  this one is made of embroidered linen.  it looks a little big on her, maybe because it is a little longer than this one, though they are made with the same pattern.  i will take photos her wearing it soon.

espero que no estes cansada de ver fotos de vestidos que le hago a fiona, porque todavia van a haber muchos mas!  no hay nada que me de mas satisfaccion que verla vestida con algo que yo le hice con mis manos.  y se me suelta la imaginacion y pienso que si ella tiene una nena tambien los podra usar y asi, se iran pasando de generacion en generacion, no se me ocurre nada mas amoroso como legado para mi familia.
este vestido esta hecho de lino bordado.  le queda un poquito grande, tal vez porque es un poco mas largo que este, aunque estan hechos con el mismo patron.  pronto le voy a sacar fotos 'en accion'.

what a week!  a roller coaster of emotions that i have a hard time talking about now.  and again, bringing myself back to creating.  this is my moleskine.  the goal is to create every day, a photo, a drawing, a collage, a word...even if i only have two minutes for it.  i think i will show some pages here once a week.
don't know how it is going to work out when i start the program from this book.  has anyone done it?

ay, que semana llena de emociones tan fuertes que me sacudieron hasta el alma.  todavia se me hace dificil hablar del tema.  otra vez a crear, a creer.  este es mi moleskine, el objetivo es hacer algo creativo todos los dias, una foto, un collage, un dibujo, una palabra...aunque tenga solo un minuto para hacerlo.  creo que voy a mostrar alguanas paginas completas una vez por semana aca. 
no se que va a pasar cuando empiece el programa de este libro.  alguien lo hizo ya?

making/haciendo cosas

making things always helps me.  making things for fiona is even better.  i am not super-happy with this skirt, but it is finished and that is an accomplishment to me.  linen with applique.

hacer cosas con las manos siempre me ayuda, y hacer cosas para fiona es lo mejor.  no estoy muy contenta con esta pollera/falda, pero esta terminda, y eso ya es un logro para mi.  lino con aplicaciones.

this is a little plant my mum made for fiona, she cut a branch from another one and put it in water, it already has roots.  she put it there so fiona can look at it while she eats since it is right next to her chair.  she left saturday morning and we miss her.  the distance is so big and so heavy...

esta es una plantita que mi mama le hizo a fiona, corto un gajo de otra y lo puso en agua.  ya tiene raices.  la puso ahi para que fiona la pueda ver cuando come, esta justo al lado de su silla.  mi mam se fue el sabado a la man~ana.  como la extran~amos!  la distancia es grande y tan pesada...

i found them this weekend on a trip to the thrift store with my mum.  i guess small things make me happy because every time i see them in their beautiful colours i can't help but smile.

These two little {2 inches tall} sweet musical bunnies are in the shop now.  I hope somebody buys them soon because  the more I look at them, the more I want to keep them.

These super-tiny doggies.  I added a safety pin and voila! a new and very origilal pin.

gifts for a cook/regalos para una buena cocinera

These are some gifts I made for my friend's birthday.  She is a great cook so I made her things for the kitchen. 

Estos son unos regalos que hice para mi amiga que cumple an~os.  Como es una muy buena cocinera, le hice cosas para la cocina.

I painted the handles of the spoons and added vintage and new ribbons. {they are resting on one of my favourite vintage finds, this beautifully embroidered runner I found last weekend, but I kept that one}

Pinte los mangos de las cucharas y les agregue cintas antiguas y mas nuevas {las cucharas estan puestas sobre una de mis cosas preferidas: un camino con un bordado lindisimo que encontre la semana pasada en una casa de antiguedades, pero ese se quedo en casa, no lo regalo!}

 
Two kitchen towels that I embroidered {I still have two more to go, I didn't have the time to finish them}.  Happy birthday, Moni!!

another dress/otro vestido

Hi!  This is a new dress I made for Fiona.  She is wearing it with tights and a long sleeve shirt because today is unusually cold.  I used the pattern number 4206 by Simplicity, but I lengthened the top so it became a dress.

Hola!  Este es un vestido que acabo de terminarle a Fiona.  Hoy lo uso con medias y remera de manga larga porque hace un poco de frio, cosa rara para mayo en estos pagos.  Use el patron numero 4206 de Simplicity, pero alargue la camisita porque me gustaba mas como vestido. 
Espero que estes pasando un dia muy lindo.  Vuelvo pronto, ahora me voy a seguir jugando con la abuela.
